Wednesday 19th May 2010, University of Kent (Canterbury Campus)

From the labyrinth to the woods, from Architecture to Forensic Science:

- you are invited to join in a critical exploration of new teaching and learning spaces developed through Kent's Change Academy project, the Creative Campus.

This event will be hosted by University of Kent's Unit for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching. Arrive from 10am for coffee; event commences at 11am. We will close at around 3.50pm, and you are warmly invited to join us at 4pm for the official launch of the Marlowe Building's new foyer, designed by one of Kent's Architecture students.

The event will take place both indoors and outdoors (including woodland - dress code informal, sensible shoes essential, umbrellas provided!) Two artists will be resident for the day. We invite you to bring your own camera and contribute to an on-line installation which will be created afterwards to reflect the day's events.

The event is wheelchair accessible, but please get in touch in advance if you have specific access questions or requirements.

Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice, City University London

The Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice was founded to coordinate established creativity research at City in domains ranging from business and engineering to psychology and the arts, and aims to become a world leader in the teaching, research and transfer of creativity in professional practice. Creativity and design, used effectively, are important competitive tools for firms and the formal education system, enhancing the supply of creativity and design skills, and management and business skills more generally.

City University London is already a world-class centre of applied creativity research through activities in informatics, business, psychology, music and the arts. The Centre links research activities in all seven of City's Schools and aims to build bridges and collaborations between existing teaching, research and consultancy activities around creativity and innovation. The focus on professional practice reflects City’s strengths in business and the professions, from engineering and information technologies to journalism, nursing and the arts.
